This organization welcomes both direct lineal and lateral descendants of the valiant men who defended the
Alamo from February 23rd through March 6th of 1836 in service of the Provisional Government of
Texas, including the soldiers, couriers, scouts, and non-combatants (survivors).

Dallas Public Library
The Texas/Dallas History and Archives Division of the Dallas Public Library collects, preserves, and makes available to researchers materials of all formats relating to the history and culture of the City of Dallas and the State of Texas. One of the largest collections of its kind, the Texas/Dallas collection is a treasure trove of local and state history. A trained staff, state-of-the-art computers, archival finding guides, and specialized indexes provide easy access to the collection.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas
The Daughters of the Lone Star Republic was organized by cousins Betty Ballinger and Hally Bryan. They conceived the idea in 1891 of perpetuating forever the memory of the Texas pioneer families and soldiers of the Republic of Texas by forming an association of their descendants. This organization would soon come to be known as the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Members must provide proof of direct lineal descent.

Responsible for overseeing the management of the records

historical records of the three branches of the federal government. The Southwest Regional branch in Fort Worth maintains retired records from federal agencies and courts in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

Texas State Cemetery
Located in Austin, Texas, the state cemetery is where some
of Texas' most notable sons and daughters are buried. There
is a master list of burials as well as biographical information

Lists genealogical information available in the Texas State
Library. Allows searching of the Confederate Pension Index,
some 54,634 applications from Texas veterans and their widows,
